You know you are in Mumbai when the festivities are in the air at this time of the year. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals in this part of the world. It marks the beginning of the festive season and all that a girl needs is more reasons to buy, make and take out the Indian-wear all dressy and flouncy and rich.

I am as girly as girly gets, never been a tomboy, though I love the grunge as much as the bling , I take my love for wearing Indian wear to a whole different level during the festivities.

So my lovelies in the weeks and months your truly is going to photo document as many possible of my Indian wear looks and share with you.Officially I have more reasons to dress up , its my job too… hehehehhee all in the name of work you see…. I just love my job….. dressing up doesn’t even feel like work you see…. 😉

By no mean does it mean I don’t work hard enough. Like you guys know I also also Style Coach people and help them dress , look and feel good. It gives me immense happiness to see the transformations and the joy of seeing happiness in the eyes of my clients and the confidence in their gait……. it sure is a priceless feeling.

So, I was at the Lakme Fashion Week last week and as always it is a joy to see the veteran, new and upcoming talent all at the same platform. Some are quirky and some classic, some love their cottons and some their silks. It is an awesome platform to meet new and talented designers on the block, there is where I met the very lovely Designer Mrunalini Rao from Hyderabad. She loves designing Indian wear and her outfits were classic and gorgeous. See for your self….

Without being over the top and just the right bling is her style. The lehengas designed by her had gorgeous use of embroidery and just the right mix of colours. and are the kind you would wear to a wedding in the family or a friend in a heartbeat,brides who love classic and timeless styling would love them for their trousseau .

I decided to wear one of her outfits for the festivities. Gowns are mostly kept aside for the evenings and yours truly decided to wear it during the day time, this particular gown by Mrunalini is so Indian in its essence that I wore it for the ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. I loved the colour and and a subtle dash of bling . This outfit could be played up by accessorising and using bright makeup for an evening. Since I was wearing it during the day I decided to use a subtle gold hair band as the only accessory and tied my hair in a low bun.

Kept the makeup simple, Just used the Ponds BB cream as a base, which instantly brightens the skin . Eyes were done up in slightly thick eyeliner than I usually wear and some mascara. Some blush and nude Lipstick and I was ready to greet the lord and celebrate the festive in style.

Frizzy to Non Frizzy Hair with L’oreal Professionnel Profiber

Hi My lovelies, you know what….lately, I have been experimenting a whole lot with my hair care . I have had medium to long length of hair for a long time now and since I moved to Mumbai my hair quality has deteriorated , somehow no matter how much I love amchi Mumbai the water here doesn’t agree with my hair. Also that I am not very regular at drinking water (note to self: drink more water everyday), adds to my hair woes. Hair have become frizzy and dry and it ain’t a very good feeling you see. Leads to many a bad hair days and eventually makes me always want to bun up unless blow dried and all….

Like I mentioned above I have been experimenting with a whole lot of hair care routines and procedures. Lately I discovered the L’oreal Professionnel’s Profiber treatment. I had walked into a salon for a haircut and asked them about anything that might help my hair look and feel better and they promptly mentioned L’oreal Professionnel Profiber treatment. I was told for prolonged and better effects I need to get it done regularly. They have 3 treatments based on what kind of treatment your hair would need, Rectify (for stage 1 damaged hair), Restore (for stage 2 damaged hair) and Reconstruct (for stage 3 damaged hair) and I was suggested and treated with the Restore, After the treatment my hair softer and smelt amazing. I had to use the Profiber shampoo and the masque for the prolonged after care, which I did.

I went again for the second session of the treatment after 6 weeks (which a tad bit later than suggested), this time around they had an expert from L’oreal Professionnel who had a fancy gadget to gauge the hair damage. They magnified my hair on it and showed me how damaged it was….not a very good sight you see when you see it in a literally magnified version….and see how big was my hair problem… looking at the condition of my hair, the expert suggested I go in for Reconstruct Treatment this time around rather than restore, which I feel was aptly diagnosed, you would just know why in a bit.

So the treatment began with gently massaging my hair while they shampooed and applied the masque and the special concentrate. It is also a relaxing treatment , I feel nothing feels better than being pampered with a massage right, just close your eyes and just be aaahhhhhhh!!!! good feeling….right…. When I got back to my chair from the shampoo station I could already feel that my hair was soft and I couldn’t stop smelling the strands of my hair, they just smelt divine. A Blow dry later my hair looked super gorgeous , felt much softer and needless to say smelt wowie… I was advised to follow it up with the Pro Fiber shampoo and masque which I did.

My verdict is that Pro Fiber does make a difference to your hair texture , it made my frizzy hair softer. You just need to follow it up with right products and only downside is that it needs to be done after the suggested intervals, Like any other treatments the effects aren’t very long lasting having said that nothing makes you feel better than hair that feels better and smells even better…..I guess I really can’t get over the fact how my hair smells after I use the shampoo and the masque.
